The Vittorino Cazzetta museum containing Mondeval Man who lived 7500 years ago on the Mondeval plateau is Selva di Cadore's pride and joy. In the geological section you can also see the cast made of the dinosaur footprint found on the slopes of Mt. Pelmetto.
The Cinque Torri - Lagazuoi area was a First World War battleground and you can visit trenches, walkways and gun positions in the Cinque Torri area. Climbing up to Mt. Lagazuoi you can also descend in the tunnel carved out of the mountain by Italian soldiers in World War One. There is also the Forte Tre Sassi Museum at Valparola pass with its many finds from the war.
The Serrai di Sottoguda canyon is one of the most attractive places to visit in the whole Dolomite area. At the foot of the Marmolada massif this canyon winds its way for 2 kilometres through sheer rock faces, waterfalls and religious icons. In the summer months a tourist train is available to visitors wishing to visit the whole canyon.
And the area has a great deal of other attractions to offer: for those who love history there is the Pope Luciani Museum in Canale d' Agordo, the Nail Making Museum in Forno di Zoldo and the Augusto Murer wood art museum in Falcade.
